Fayoum University (Egypt)

In 1975, the Faculty of Education was established in Fayoum as one of the faculties affiliated with Cairo University. The Faculty of Agriculture followed in 1976. Later, in 1981, the Faculty of Engineering was established. In 1983,a presidential decree was issued declaring FayoumBranch as an independent branch of Cairo University.
Finally, the dream of the people of Fayoum was realized with the issuance of Republican Decree No. (84) for the year 2005 establishingFayoum University. This was followed by the issuance of Republican Decree No. (193) for the year 2005 establishing the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Archeology. The two decisions culminated with a decision appointing Prof. Galal Mustafa Saeed as the President of Fayoum University.After that, Prof. Ahmed Magdy El Gohary, was appointed as the President of the University from 2008 to 2011, and Prof. MagdyTawfiq Hanna, as the Acting President of the University from 11/10/2011 to 6/12/2011. Then, Prof. Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab, assumed the office of the President of the University from 2011 to 2014, followed by Prof. Khaled Ismail Hamza,from 2014 to 2018, and Prof. Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, as the Acting President of the University from 2018 to 2019, and Prof. Muhammad IssaSayed Ahmed, in charge of the functioning of the Universityfrom 30/7/2019 to 17/9/2019.From 18/9/2019 to 31/7/2021,Prof. Ahmed JaberShedeed assumed the position of the President of the University, then, Prof. Muhammad Saeed Mahmoud Abu Al-Ghar, in charge of the functioning of the University from 31/7/2021 to 1/12/2021. Finally, Prof. Dr. Yasser MagdyHatata, assumed the position of the President of Fayoum University from 2/12/2021 to date.
