UNESCO Chair in Women, Science and Technology, Sudan

In 2019 in Khartoum – Sudan, WASD signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the UNESCO Chair in Women, Science and Technology. The chair is a regional non-governmental organization whose activities cover Arab and African countries and was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor of Sudan University of Science and Technology. The establishment ceremony was honoured by Mr Koïchiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO in December 2003. The Chair provides an appropriate environment for transferring knowledge, conducting scientific research, projects, training, and transferring and exchanging regional and global experiences. The vision of the Chair is to empower women in the field of research, application and training of science and technology to achieve sustainable development.
