The University of East London (UEL) hosted the inaugural conference of the launch of WASD and its flagship journal: World Review of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development (WRSTSD) at the Dockland Campus on Tuesday 11th November, 2003. The theme of the conference is “Globalization and Sustainable Development: The Road Ahead”.
For many years since 2003, WASD jointly co-organised various activities and events with UEL.
UEL hosted several episodes of WASD Big Interviews Series. The series is organised in partnership with the Middle Eastern Knowledge Economy Institute (MEKEI) and Sudan Knowledge (SK). In these interviews, international experts (Prime Ministers, Minsters, Senior Government Officials, Vice Chancellors, Students, Researchers, Practitioners, Policy-makers, Ordinary citizen) from the public and private sectors share their views on various global issue relating to SD and SDGs. Experts also share their view points as to how the active diaspora community can effectively contribute to conflict prevention, management and conflict resolution as foundations for achieving peace and good governance in this fragile atmosphere of general suspicion and fear.
UEL hosted several episodes of WASD’s Global Minds Roundtable Debates. WASD organises these roundtables in partnership with its partners, the Middle Eastern Knowledge Economy Institute (MEKEI) and Sudan Knowledge (SK). The aim of these roundtables is to stimulate and excite people from across the world about the current important topics around the world and particularly the topics selected for WASD annual conferences.
