The vision of Airlangga University, Surabaya Indonesia is to become an independent, innovative, and leading university at national and international level as well as the pioneer of the development in science, technology, and humanities based on religious morality.
Following various meetings and discussion, WASD signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Collaboration Research with the Research Centre for Bio-Mollecule Engineering, University of Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia. The purpose of the MOA is to establish a relationship for interaction between Airlangga and WASD to explore research in areas of mutual interest and establish a framework between the parties that will facilitate future interactions. It is anticipated that research collaborations can be established in areas of mutual interest that are non-proprietary, and intended for public dissemination.
In the scope of the MOA, both parties will endeavor to encourage, promote, and facilitate the research collaboration. Activities of collaborations may include but not limited to the following:
- to work joint research projects in the areas of mutual interest. Both institutions could explore opportunities of collaboration in research activities and joint publication to enhance the image of both institutions as quality service providers to academia and industry.
- to have joint supervisor for Post Graduate Students.
- to facilitate exchange of student, staff/scientists and capacity building programs.
- to work on Joint International Conference and Research Consortium.
The usefulness of the MOA between WASD and Airlangga is very well demonstrated by the reciprocal engagements of leaders from both organisations in each others activities. Last year, the president of WASD, Prof. Allam Ahmed participated in Airlangga International Symposium on Sustainable Development Goals on the 3rd December 2020 (The Vaccine is here! Let’s go Back to SDGs: Policy Directions for the Utilization of Biodiversity from Tropical Forest to achieving SDGs in Indonesia) and Airlangga’s Vice Rector for Internationalisation, Digitalisation and Information Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Miftahussurur, was represented in the WASD International Online Learning Conference in the period 28-29 Oct 2020 (Universitas Airlangga’s experience in coping with the new normal post Covid-19).
The President of WASD will be among the Keynote guest speakers at Airlangga’s Faculty of Law international conference in November 2021. The Third of International Conference on Law, Governance and Globalisation (The 3rd ICLGG) on 3-4 November 2021 will be hosted virtual by the Faculty of Law international, Airlangga University.
The theme of the conference is The Challenge of Sustainable Development: Present and Future. Within this broad conference theme, there are the following sub-topic that focus on: Rule of Law (General Issues of Law); Good Governance and Public Policy; Intellectual Property Rights, Economics, Business and Global Trade; Human Rights and Justice; Environmental Law and Policy; and Medical and Public Health Law. WJEMSD Conference Special Issue WASD will organise and host a special issue of the World Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Sustainable Development (WJEMSD) and Airlangga. The general theme of the special issue is based on the important and positive impact good governance and public policy on sustainable development (SD), especially for developing countries. The aim of special issue is to assemble a coherent set of papers that are written based on research and discussion on how and to what extend good governance and public policy can support SD. The key features on this special issue are discussion on how good governance and public policy can promote accountability, transparency, efficiency in management of human, natural and economic resources, democracy and rule of law at all levels that is incorporated in government strategies.
