Tariku Hunduma obtained a Diploma (in Biology education), BSc in Biology and an MSc in Applied Microbiology with thesis research work in Food Microbiology at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Currently, he is working as an associate researcher at Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), Ambo Agricultural Research Center. His research work focuses on traditional fermented foods. His current research deals with the optimization of traditional fermented foods.
