Dr. Esther Gyedu-Akoto
Esther Gyedu-Akoto is a Research Scientist in the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana with interests and expertise in the area of food product development. She was educated in Food Science at the University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She joined the New Product Development Unit in 1993 as an Assistant Research Scientist, and was promoted to Research Scientist in 2000 and a Senior Research Scientist in 2009. She is still a Senior Research Scientist and continues her research activities through publications, external lectures and editorial activities. Esther is a co-author of the book, Cocoa Manual: A source book for sustainable cocoa production (2010). She was the President of the Koforidua Branch of the Ghana science Association from 2010 to 2015 and is the current National President of the Association. She is also a member of the Codex Committee of Fresh fruits and vegetables and an External Examiner to the Department of Food science and Technology, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
