Dr. Dorothea Wehrmann
Dr. Dorothea Wehrmann studied Social Sciences, Political Communication and InterAmerican Studies at the University of Osnabrück and at Bielefeld University. She holds a doctoral degree in Political Science and works as a researcher at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE). Previously, she was employed as a researcher at the Center for InterAmerican Studies and as a lecturer at Bielefeld University. Her research areas include international and transnational co-operation in partnerships and networks, private sector engagement in development cooperation, and the politics of the Polar Regions. In the past eight years, she focused particularly on regional dynamics in the Americas and conducted fieldwork in North-, Central- and South America. She published peer-reviewed articles amongst others in The Polar Journal and her book “Critical Geopolitics of the Polar Regions: An Inter-American Perspective” is under contract with Routledge and will be published soon.
