WASD is very pleased to invite you to its 21st International Annual Conference aiming to bring together academics, universities/research institutions and private sectors from across the world to collaborate and reconnect with the discourse of Sustainable Development (SD). We are hoping the conference will take place Face to Face in  Morocco.

The conference program will be published two weeks before the conference date and will normally be tentative and subject to changes due to the large number of participants. For a sample program structure, please check our previous conferences programs.

The conference aim to address the key factors for the effective management of marine resources to ensure the ecological balance needed for achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SD). There is no doubt that human activities have serious impact and threatening the marine ecosystems and their biodiversity across the world. It is now clearly recognised that ecological balance requires address both the political and cultural dimensions aspects of the problem. The conference is therefore aims to discuss and explore various policies/approaches by individuals, society and governments which can contribute to enhance and support effective management of marine resources across the world and more specifically in the Developing Countries (DCs).  

Target audience: To address the different topics in the conference, WASD is calling upon researchers from academia, industry and business to come together in this conference to present their latest research findings, plans for meeting the challenges ahead and exchange ideas for the roadmap for a sustainable future for our planet and achieving the UN SDGs. Other participants in the conference include: UN agencies, NGOs, civil society groups, women, youth, students, private sector, SMEs, government officials and agencies, policy makers, consultants and other stakeholders from around the world to exchange knowledge and experience and discuss recent developments and current challenges in both theory and practice.
